Melissa and David have returned to the area, just about 20 minutes from campus and reside with their two future warriors, Hudson and Adeline.

They have two adult children and a cat. Richard and Kerri’s youngest child, Victoria, is a senior at ESU as an English/education major. They have been married for almost 21 years and have celebrated Valentine’s Day together as a couple for 24 years this year!

Mark McNutt ’99 and Tara McNutt

Mark McNutt ’99 and Tara McNutt met at ESU more than 30 years ago and have been together ever since. Tara walked into McNutt’s room at Shawnee Hall in the fall 1990 semester.
“Wow, my heart be still. At the time, it pained me to think she would not feel the same,” explained McNutt. “I was uncomfortably ok with being friends by association. Nonetheless, I couldn't stop thinking about her.”
Shortly thereafter, McNutt’s dear friend and roommate told him something that changed his life. Apparently, Tara liked him too. To this day, it is one of the most joyful moments of McNutt’s life. They ‘dated’ for more than 10 years and married in 2001. Mark and Tara have two lovely children. They are not sure what forces brought them to ESU but are so glad they did.
